Ms. Lucile (King)"Mama" Whaley was born January 26, 1953 to the parentage of Joshua King, Sr. and Luella Campbell King. She accepted Christ at an early age and was united with New Zion Church of Christ until death. Ms. Whaley received her education from Pemberton High School. She married Herman L. Whaley, to that union three of her children were born. Ms. Whaley is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenneth Keith Whaley; one daughter, Shonda Evette Brown; one sister, Dorothy King Hudson; three brothers, Roosevelt King, Sr., Joshua King, Anthony King. Ms. Whaley departed this life February 5, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memories three children; Herman Whaley, Jr., Sharron Umoh, Tamika Benjamin; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, four brothers, Willie L. King, Henry King, Winfred King, Jimmy King; two sisters, Suzanne Pitts, Darlene King, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and a special friend, Mr. Bo Jones. Services for Lucile King Whaley of Marshall will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at Downs Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Zion Cemetery on Haynes Rd off of Hwy 154.
