Services for Ms. Lula Mae Kornegay, 88 of Marshall will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday February 19, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday February 18, 2011 at the funeral home. Ms. Kornegay passed away Wednesday February 16, 2011 in Marshall. Lula Mae Kornegay was born December 14, 1922 in Gary, Texas to Esker Johnson Wells and Vinnie Rogers Wells. She later married George T. Kornegay who prerceded her in death. Lula was a homemaker. Surviving Ms. Kornegay are sons, Johnny Kornegay of Karnack and Paul Kornegay of Marshall; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also serviving are her sisters, Ada Jane Essery of Center and Ruby Faye Gibbs of Gary. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Kornegay, Michael Hayes, Dillon Hayes, Rich Hayes, Blake Dunn and Blayne Hayes.
