A memorial service for Marchetti "Marc" Leroy Jones, 56 of Jefferson will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home.

Marchetti Leroy Jones transitioned into glory on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas after a brief illness and complicatios of lung cancer. He was born October12, 1960 in Marshall, Texas. He attended schools in Kansas City, MO and later served in the United States Army. He spent the last decades of his life in his native East Texas and resided in Jefferson at the time of his passing. He accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and was a member of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church in Marshall.

Marchetti enjoyed listening to music, being with family, relaxing on the banks of Lake O' the Pines, and sipping a good cup of coffee or a cold Coca-Cola. He was quite, sweet, and a gentle soul who truly loved his family. His laugh was infectious, his walk exuded "swagger", and he could have coined the term " Alright, Alright, Alright!"

Marchetti was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy "Cat" Jones and Erma Dell Robinson. He is survived by half siblings, Roy Lee Spearman of Minneapolis, MN and LaToya Jones of Lee's Summitt MO. He leaves to mourn; aunts, Grace Washinton, Lena Robinson, Shirley Robinson, Pearlie Yancy, Leora Jones; uncles, Carl Holley and Wendell Robinson. Marc will also be mourned a host of cousins, caregivers, and good friends.
