Graveside services for Margaret Elizabeth Ogle Bivins, 93, of Shreveport, LA. will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at Memory Park Cemetery in Longview, TX with Bro. Mark Bevill officiating. A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Margaret passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Shreveport. Margaret Elizabeth Ogle Bivins was born November 28, 1920 in DeWitt, Arkansas to Bert and Gay Ogle. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Waskom. Margaret had worked as the Vault Clerk/Diamond Buyer for United Jewelers in Shreveport for 14 years. She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved all children, but especially her own and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding Margaret in death were her husband of 59 years, John S. Bivins, and a daughter, Beth Bivins Birtcher. Surviving Margaret are one son, John S. Bivins, Jr. of Shreveport, LA; one daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Don Wells of Waskom, TX; five grandchildren, Shelley Willard of Shreveport, LA, Shannon Kramolis and husband Chris of Santa Rosa, FL, Derek Wells of Blanchard, LA, Krissi Williams and husband Matt of Bossier City, LA, and Stacy Guerrero and husband Mason of Shreveport, LA; and seven great-grandchildren, Hannah and Taylor Guerrero, Alexandra and Ben Kramolis, Zachary Nowlan, Tyler and Megan Williams. A special thank you goes out to The Oaks of Louisiana and their wonderful staff, and Hospice personnel, for their loving care of our Mother during her stay there. The family would like to thank Mother's sitters, Martha Milczarski and Claudia Smart for their devotion to our Mother's care. Her journey down the road of dementia was made so much smoother with the love they showed our Mother.
