Funeral services for Margie F. Moore, 90, of Marshall will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2022, at Downs Funeral Home.

Mrs. Moore passed away October 25, 2022. Margie was born January 2, 1932, in Harrison County, Texas to Daniel W., Sr. and Mable Woods Fogle. She attended Marshall Public Schools. Upon graduating from Marshall High School, she attended East Texas Baptist College and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches with a B.S. degree in 1957. Born less than a mile from each other, she married Lavoyia L. Moore on December 25, 1951. She taught Home Economics and Texas History at Marshall Junior High in Marshall, TX for 30 years, retiring in 1987. While teaching, she was a sponsor for FHA, and the Student Council. She was active in Delta Kappa Gamma where she served for a time as President and was an active member of the Aggie Moms of Harrison County while her children attended Texas A&M University. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Gill and enjoyed serving her church for many years in various roles until Lavoyia's health began to fail.

She had a variety of interests including sewing, cooking, crafting, and living in the country in the home her grandparents built in 1915. She took great pride in overseeing the restoration of the house in 1972 and beyond. Retirement brought the time and opportunity for travel. She and Lavoyia made frequent trips to Branson, MO, and many treks to visit grandchildren. When not traveling during those years, mornings usually meant breakfast at the I-Hop in Longview or the Cracker Barrel in Shreveport. She was kind and thoughtful, and a true caregiver at heart to all in need. Her greatest joy was participating in the lives of her grandchildren, each of whom knew they were her favorite.

The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation and sincerest thank you to two precious individuals - Rudy Bradden and Sherri Campbell. As Mom's caregiver for over 4 years, Rudy went above and beyond what we could have ever expected with her compassion, kindness, loving care and dedication. Sherri has been a constant in Mom's life for 40 years as her hairdresser, confidant, and devoted friend. These ladies became part of our family, and we love them dearly.

We are grateful to the many dedicated nurses and staff who cared for Mom with love at Heritage House. We also extend heartfelt thanks to all the members of Marshall Homecare and Hospice with special thanks to Benita, GiGi and Margie for the exceptional care and assistance they provided.

She is survived by sons, Danny and Robyn Moore of Marshall and Len and Marty Moore of Van; daughter, Martha and Mack Bostick of College Station; grandsons, Kyle and Shaina Bostick, Cody Bostick, Logan and Kayla Moore; granddaughters Megan Moore, Alison and Taylor Thomas, Mackenzie and Collin Scovill, and Macy Moore; great grandchildren, Kylee and Kynslee Bostick, Easton Bostick, Lylah Moore, Jaxon and Rowen Thomas. She is also survived by her brother, Sam and Sheryl Fogle and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lavoyia L. Moore, her parents, Dan and Mabel Fogle; parents-in-law, Levvie and Lorena Moore; sisters, Bertha Hayden and Nancy King; brother Dan Fogle, Jr.; granddaughter-in-law Colby Bostick and twin great grandchildren.
