A memorial service for Margie "Jane" Woods, 78, of Hallsville will be held at 10:00a.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. James Rust officiating. Mrs. Woods went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Margie Jane Hill Woods was born Wednesday, October 25, 1939 in Marshall, Texas to James and Ruby Hill. She was a graduate of Marshall Independent School District and later attended business school. On Friday, January 27, 1967 Jane married James R. Woods. For the next 50, almost 51 years, Jane and James loved and cared for the each other deeply. Hallsville was home for Jane and James for the past 39 years. Over the years Jane worked at Marshall Memorial Hospital, Longview Savings and Loan, and Sabine Valley MHMR.

Jane was saved at an early age, was a lifelong Baptist and a member of the Harrison County Cowboy Church of Hallsville, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Preceding Mrs. Woods in death were her parents, James and Ruby Hill; brother, James Morgan Hill, Jr; and a daughter, Carla Jean Harrelson.

Those left to cherish the many memories of Margie Jane Woods are husband, James R. Woods of Hallsville; daughters, Julie Ann Binnion and husband, Mark of Ogden, Utah and Jane Leigh Peterson and husband, Joe of Big Sandy, Texas. Also surviving Mrs. Woods are 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and cousins, Don W. McCracken, Sr. of Marshall, G.W. Hickey, Jr, and Charlie Hickey.
