Marie Epps Jackson was born August 13, 1925 in Mansfield, LA. to parentage of John and Mary Epps who preceded her in death along with her five siblings, Katie, Lula, David, Foster and O.Z. and son, Willie James DeWitt.

She peacefully entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Mary Springfield Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. Later in life she joined Antioch Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her health failed.

She married the late; B.D. DeWitt to this union, one child was born. She later moved to Texas, met and married the love of her life, Alton Jackson who also preceded her in death, to this union four children were born.

She was a homemaker who helped numerous young parents by babysitting their children. Before her health failed, she loved planting flowers and working in her flower garden.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Annie Jackson, Essie Jackson and Lori (Alvin) Hicks of Karnack, Texas; one son, Lee Alton Jackson of San Francisco, Cali.; three grandchildren, Melika Jackson, Brittany Jackson and Albert Lee; six great-grandchildren, Tiara, Marshayla, Serenity, Nilah, and Elijahjuan. Three special ladies she considered she considered as daughters, Mattie Hood, Annete Dotie and Crystal Hunter. She also leaves to cherish her memories a number of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
