Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marsha Ann Spruiell. On Sunday, February 25, 2024, a beloved wife, cherished mother, dedicated grandmother, loving sister, and affectionate nurse went home to be with her husband and daughter. She was a pillar of strength and compassion. Her life is remembered as one of great joy and happiness.

In her lifetime, she had many ups and downs. She faced the unimaginable pain of bidding farewell to her daughter on the outset of building her family. Through her faith she persevered as a mother and wife all the while going back to school to become a nurse.

She devoted herself to caring for others as a nurse, touching countless lives with her kindness and empathy. Her commitment to healing extended far beyond her profession, as she selflessly nurtured her family with unwavering love and support. The unexpected loss of her husband left a hole that could not be filled by her friends and family. She poured what love she had into her grandkids knowing that the remainder of her time was going to be shorter than what everyone wanted it to be.

She is preceded in death by mother and father, Ardis Dean and Mary Kizer; her husband, David Spruiell SR; daughter, Tracy Spruiell; brother Ray Rogers and sister-n-law Margaret "Marty" Rogers.

She is survived by her loving children, Bryan Spruiell and Savannah, David Spruiell Jr and Amanda; her grandkids, Alex Spruiell, Luke Spruiell, Noah Spruiell, Abigail Spruiell, Ellie Spruiell; her sisters; Sheryl Alden and Lorrie Barnes; along with countless other nieces and nephews.

She was always a beacon of light to family, friends, and strangers. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A celebration of Marsha's life will be held Monday on March 18th at 10am at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Hughes Springs Texas. Flowers can be sent to Downs Funeral home in Marshall, TX.
