Funeral services for Martha Elaine Swafford Hearne, 90, of Marshall will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November10, 2011 at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Warbington and Bro. Will Sherman officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday November09, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Hearne passed away November 7, 2011. Martha Elaine Swafford Hearne was born November 24, 1920 in Harrison County to Asa and Edna Baker Swafford. She married Ray Morgan Hearne on August 22, 1937. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1968. Martha was a longtime resident of Harrison County and at least a 50 year member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Surviving Martha are seven children, David Hearne and wife Pat, Helen Hollis and husband Bobby, Anne Brown, Glenda Warbington and husband Earl, John Hearne and wife Brenda, Wanda Adley, and Ricky Hearne and wife Kelli. Also surviving are her nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Ernest, Vernon and Glen Swafford and Mary Ruth Swafford Allen. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Morgan Brown, Robert Brown, David Warbington, John Morgan Hearne, Larry Don Hollis, Weslee Hearne and Dustin Adley.
