A funeral service for Mary Lillian Carter will be held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Bro. Chad Roberts and Bro. Lindsay Long will be officiating the services. Visitation will be held from 6-8p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home.

Mary Lillian Carter 94, of Marshall, Texas passed away February 17, 2019 in Longview, Texas. Mrs. Carter was born on April 3, 1924 in Harrison County to her parents, John Harris Clark and Annie Bell Pope. Mrs. Carter married the love of her life, James D. Carter on May 3, 1996. Mrs. Carter was a member of Pentecostal of Marshall. She was known for being a great homemaker. Mrs. Carter enjoyed reading her bible, fishing, quilting and traveling.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, James Carter; children, Jeanette Click, Roger Oney and wife, Diane, Don Oney and wife, Teresa, Jimmy Oney, Evelyn Anderson and husband, Cotton, and Brenda Vargas; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Oney; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Oney; parents; son, Charles Oney; son-in-law, Odum Click; daughter-in-law, Iris Oney; grandson, Danny Click.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Lloyd Lee Click, Gary Anderson, J W Anderson, Jason Anderson, Chris Menchue, Don Oney, Jr., and Paul Oney.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Oney and the members of the Pentecostal of Marshall Church.
