Mary Mac Cash passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 of natural causes. She would have celebrated her 97th birthday in April. Her funeral service will be Wednesday evening at 5:00 at Waskom First United Methodist Church, 1305 West Texas Avenue, Waskom, Texas. Mary was born in April of 1918 to Richard and Lillian Truly. She was married to the late DeWitt Cash of Shreveport. Mary and Dewitt lived in Shreveport until 1970 when they became residents of Waskom, TX. The Cashes were active members of Broadmoor Methodist Church in Shreveport. After their move to Waskom, they became faithful attendees of Waskom First United Methodist Church. They both thoroughly enjoyed their life in Waskom, where Mary lived until a brief stay at Oakwood House in Marshall. Mary worked for a number of years in the Caddo Parish school system as an administrator, where she enjoyed the friendship of many teachers and staff. She is survived by her son Jim Cash of Austin, TX. Also suffering a loss were the Jan and Murph King family who were like family to Mary.
