Mary Frances Rebecca "Becky" Craig passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Jefferson, Tx after a long battle against Alzheimer's disease. She was born on August 26, 1938, to John Weston Batchelor and Eva Louise WeHunt in Haleyville Alabama. After the loss of her parents at a young age, she was raised by her siblings and endured many hardships. Still, through these hardships, she grew into the kind, compassionate woman we all knew and loved.
Though she was born in Alabama, she liked to say she got to Texas, "as fast as she could," which was around 1955. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1958, and it was there that she met her husband and love of her life, Frank, whom she then married on December 12, 1958.
After graduation, she worked a variety of jobs, eventually ending up at Bob's Hickory House, where she worked for 18 years before joining her husband at McCulloch Service Center until retirement.
Becky was a woman with a personality as big as her name was long. It would be no exaggeration to say she never met a stranger. She loved Cruisin', Fishin', and talking the ear off of anyone who would listen. Other hobbies included dancing, knitting, and thrift shopping. Becky was also an avid reader—especially of cookbooks—which she might have enjoyed reading more than she actually liked to cook.
Most important of all was her faith in God. She was a woman who lived her life with the intention of helping others and was an active and faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she always enjoyed spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Craig, her parents, Sisters Marie Garner and Helen Workman, Brothers Jimmy Batchelor, Eugene Batchelor and Travis Weston Batchelor.
She is survived by her 4 children, Terri Brannon and husband Bill, Sherri Coleman and husband Danny, Ben Craig and wife Sandy, Lisa Craig and husband David McReynolds. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Dusty Coleman, Paula Ainsworth and husband Jason, Jody Eddins and wife Kirstan, Mindy Woodfin and husband Derek, Casey Brannon, Kelsey Smith and husband Brian, Anna Ashburn and husband Justin, Rowan Craig, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
