Janie Jones Funeral services for Janie Jones, 50, of Waskom will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. David Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 16th at the Downs Funeral Home in Marshall. Mrs. Jones passed away July 13, 2011 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Janie was born on July 20, 1960 to Eldon Howell and Mary Young Howell in Minden, Louisiana. She married Ronald Jones on May 7, 1988 in Minden. She worked as an Assistant Clerk for Harrison County District Clerk's Office since April of 2008. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church where she taught the Children's Sunday School Class and VBS, and was also a member of the choir. She could be found supporting her boys at the baseball field, spending time with her granddaughter and camping. She is survived by her husband Ronald Jones of Waskom, sons Chris Laurence & wife Natalie of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Cody Jones of Tyler, granddaughter Eden Laurence of Natchitoches, Louisiana, parents Eldon & Mary Howell of Minden, Louisiana, brothers Wain Howell & wife Terri, Bill Howell & wife Susan, all of Minden, and James Howell & wife Patty of Ashdown, Arkansas, sister Janice Nelson & husband Rusty of Minden, Louisiana. Numerous nieces & nephews and other relatives also survive Mrs. Jones. Pallbearers will be Clay Alexander, Danny Myers, Clint Soloman, Murf King, Larry Goswick, Matt Turner, and Travis Bruce.
