Graveside Services for Mary J. "Jennie" Sarrett, 99, of Marshall will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. Viewing will be until 8 p.m., Monday, January 5th at the Downs Funeral Home. Mrs Sarrett passed away January 3, 2015 at the Heritage House in Marshall. Mrs. Sarrett was born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 8, 1915. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, and crocheted up to six months before her passing. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors are her sons, Bob Sarrett and wife, Shirley of Terrell, Texas, and Gaylon Sarrett of Scottsville; sister, Lois Greer of Newton, Texas; granddaughters, Teri Maxwell of Mesquite, Texas, and Angie Alton of Waskom, Texas; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Sarrett and her grandson, Brandon Sarrett.
