Maxine Anderson passed away peacefully in her home Monday evening, March 19th, surrounded by her loving family. Her funeral service will be held at New Hebron Baptist Church in Elysian Fields at 10:00a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 with Bro. Peter Allen officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Downs Funeral Home. Burial will be at Meador Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Maxine was a faithful member of New Hebron Baptist Church for many years, where she served many roles including her love of teaching Sunday school. Maxine loved to share God's word with all ages. Maxine worked for 20 years as a secretary at TG and Y Distribution Center. After her retirement, she pursued her passion, opening her own greenhouse and running Rocking A Farms with her husband. Maxine loved working in her yard and cultivating her beautiful flowers Maxine also enjoyed traveling the United States and attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities.

Maxine is survived by her loving husband, W.C. Anderson of 63 years; children, Bill Anderson and Robbie of Marshall, and Debbie Rogers and Ricky of Elysian Fields; three grandchildren, Bradley Rogers and wife, Emily, Summer Jones and husband, Chris, and Brittany Rogers; one great-grandchild, Campbell Rogers; nephew, Tim Sherman and wife, Jana; constant 4-legged companion, "BEA". Also left to cherish her memories are a number of other relatives and friends.
