Mckenna Danielle
"Dani" Grace Killman
Jan 20, 2005 — Sep 19, 2025
Yukon
It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful daughter, McKenna Danielle "Dani" Grace Killman. The world has truly lost a good soul.
Dani was born on January 20, 2005 in Marshall, Texas, to Roy Daniel Killman and Valerie D'Asto Killman. She spent her early years in Marshall but moved to Oklahoma at the age of seven.
Dani was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, bone cancer, at the age of nine and doctors were not optimistic of her chances at that time. But they didn't know of Dani's warrior spirit and of her faith in God. She beat cancer into submission with chemotherapy and surgeries. She relapsed three years later but battled the cancer with the same courage she showed through the first round. Once more, she was declared cancer free. Cancer reared its ugly head a third time at 19 years old but Dani was determined to win again. This time she didn't win the battle, she won the war and God called her home on September 19, 2025. She was completely healed in the blink of an eye and is in the arms of Jesus.
Dani graduated from Union City High School in Yukon, Oklahoma in 2024 where she was an active FFA member, rising to Vice President of her chapter, and exhibited market pigs and breeding Texas Longhorn cattle. She was a member of the TLBT (Texas Longhorn Breeders of Tomorrow), and the ITLA (International Texas Longhorn Association). She was never happier than when she was in the arena showing her prized Longhorn heifer, Sugar.
Dani was a joyous young woman, always having a kind word, loved everyone, was always willing to lend a helping hand; just a gracious, kind hearted young lady. She had dreams of owning and working her own Longhorn cattle on her own ranch in Texas. She aspired to become a veterinarian and was working toward that goal at Redlands Community College with an eye on OSU or Texas Tech.
Through it all, Dani braved the storms of life with a smile on her face and encouraged everyone around her to find the good in everyone and everything. Now don't be fooled, she was a fiery red head with the heart of a warrior. She did not have an issue telling you if she didn't like something or was defending an underdog.
She loved all her animals - dogs, cats, horses, and chickens over the years, but her Longhorn, Sugar, and her dog, Dreamer, held special places in her heart. One of her favorite things to do was eat! And man, could she eat. Spicy chicken tenders from Chicken Express or a big juicy ribeye with a giant Dr. Pepper would disappear without so much as a scrap for the dog left over. Spending time with family and friends, that she made feel like family too, showed just how big her heart could grow. Although she was an Oklahoma transplant, she remained forever a Texas cowgirl.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Doris D'Asto and paternal uncle, Teddy Killman.
She is survived by her parents; Roy and Valerie Killman, sisters; Kinzie Roge', Taylor Hanna (Alex) and children Daisy and Rosie, Berkley Mendola (Aaron) and children Audrey, Lily and Levi, brother; Tristan Killman, maternal grandfather; Gene D'Asto, paternal grandparents; Barbara and Tom Warrior, aunts and uncles; Michael D'Asto, Eddie and Kim Killman, Missy Killman, Boyd and Tammy Killman, Tonya Killman, Billy and Misty Killman.
She leaves behind many family she adopted as her own during her brief life. Special to her were Michelle Duke, David Walsh, Jeff and Jennifer Rogers, Jay and Ann Harris, and the one she called her "tough love" Texas mama, Dr. Sonya Mcclendon.
A host of friends and animals that she would never leave out are also mourning her absence today.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Rest easy Dani, we will see you soon.
