A Memorial Service for Melissa M. Epperson, 52, of Longview will be held at 2:00p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Epperson passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Longview, Texas.

Melissa M. Epperson was born April 23, 1964 in Denver City, Texas to Marshall and Rhetta Messick. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be remembered for her warmth and infectious laugh. Melissa had many hobbies. Among those were scrapbooking, reading, taking pictures, planning vacations with her husband, Steve and baking for her family. Beyond her many hobbies and family activities, Melissa was very involved in her church activities at Longview Christian Church. As a Senior Manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Melissa had a busy professional career but continued to find time to serve on organizations beyond her daily duties. Melissa was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish the many memories of Melissa Epperson are her father, Marshall Messick; husband, Steve; children, Lindsey Ann Oney and husband, Steven of Marshall, Texas, Sheryl Mitchell of Newark, Texas, and Shawna Epperson of North Richland Hills, Texas. She is also survived by brother, Shawn Messick of Garland, Texas and sister, Amanda Hall and husband, DeJuan also of Garland.
