Graveside Service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mertis Mills Love was born September 8, 1930 to Minnie and Steve Mills. She grew up and attended school in Mooringsport, Louisiana. Mertis accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill C.M.E. Church until her passing. She was employed by Karnack School District for 30 years until her retirement.

On December 30, 1947 she married the love of her life, Mr. John Nathan Love (preceded her in death). Together they created 67 years of great life long memories. To this union they had 2 sons, Earnest and Nathan Love.

Mertis was called home on Thursday, April 16, 2020.

Forever to Cherish her memories are sons, Earnest Charles Love (Mary Baisley Love preceded him in death) of Karnack, TX, Nathan Love (Marie) of Fort Worth, TX, Tommie Johnson (Regina) of Desoto, TX, Billy Johnson (Jennifer) of Cedar Hill, TX, and Roosevelt Charles Wisner (Lisa) of Desoto, TX; daughters, Mildred Grant (Kenneth) of Desoto, TX, Linda Jordan of Buffalo, NY, Mary Helen Stephens (Kenneth) of Karnack, TX; sisters, Gertis Williams (Jessie preceded her in death), Aretta Taylor (Lamandres) of Richarson, TX, Kaie and Maple Choyce (preceded her in death); brother, Johnny Choyce of Desoto, TX, 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
