A graveside service for Merwyn E. Crooms will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 11:00a.m. at Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Bro. Eric Wilburn will be officiating the service.

Merwyn E. Crooms, 78, of Marshall, Texas was born on November 5, 1941 in Rusk County to his parents, Willie (Bill) Crooms and Susan Geneva Akin. Mr. Crooms passed away in Longview, Texas on April 5, 2020. Mr. Crooms was of the Baptist Faith. He helped build many homes and building around the Marshall Area. Mr. Crooms worked for Slone Construction for over 30 years, after retiring he went to work for Casey Slone Construction Company for a few years before retiring. Before working in the construction business he was a cabinet builder.

Mr. Crooms is survived by his wife, Shelby Crooms; daughter, Yvette Graham and spouse, Williams; brothers, Robert Crooms and spouse, Shirley and Larry Crooms and spouse, Debbie; sister, Becky Shaw and spouse, Justin; step-sons, Ricky Ledbetter, Terry Ledbetter, Jerry Ledbetter, and Greg Ledbetter. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Crooms is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Hudson Crooms; step-son, David Ledbetter.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that any donations be made to the American Heart Association.
