Michael "Micky"  Lee McCarty was born in Longview, Texas, to the late James Emory and Thelma Doris (Eidson) McCarty and passed away on July 18, 2025, at his home in Marshall, Texas.

He made his home in Marshall, TX., with his wife of 44 years, Charlotte Dean Burton McCarty. He was a sergeant in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1974. Micky had a 34-year career with the Texas and Pacific Railroad, followed by the Union Pacific. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and writing poetry.

He is survived by his brother, John McCarty, and wife, Ramona McCarty. Between Micky and Charlotte, they have six children: Melissa Cameron, Jason Branch, Jeremy McCarty, Angela Gonzales, Rachel Weekly, and Jonathan McCarty, as well as thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Down's Funeral Home on Sunday, July 20, 2025—burial to follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Ponta, TX.
