Obituary

Bro. Mike Wyatt, 63, of Sunnyvale, Texas, originally from Jefferson, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born on November 13, 1961, to the late Arty and Marie Wyatt, Bro. Mike faithfully served as a Southern Baptist pastor for over 20 years. He began his ministry in youth ministry and went on to pastor churches in Marshall, Mt. Pleasant, North Richland Hills, Hawesville (Kentucky), Greenville, and Whitehouse, Texas. He earned his Bachelor's degree from East Texas Baptist University in 1985 and his Master's in Religious Education from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1992.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Wyatt, and their children: Jordan Wyatt, Anna Hardy and her husband Kalin, and Abby Jones and her husband Adam. He was a grandfather to his nine grandchildren: Jake, Jaxon, and Jonathan Hardy; Aubrey, Avery, and Addison Jones; and Lyric, Melody, and Rhythm Wyatt. As well as his nephew Brandon McNeill and his wife Kelsi and their two sons Wyatt and Colt McNeill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arty (Lunny) and Marie Wyatt, and his sister, Pam McNeill.

He will be remembered for his strong will, his deep love for the Lord, and his confidence in his calling. He loved his family dearly, cherished his time studying the Bible, enjoyed fishing trips with his daddy, his mama's breakfasts, and never missed the chance for a good laugh.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of faith, love, and devotion lives on in all who were blessed to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Bro. Mike's honor.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Harleton, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
