A memorial service for Mike Struwe, 67, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.

Mike was born on November 11, 1955, in Madison, South Dakota to Roy Edward Struwe and Evelyn Jean Cook Struwe and passed away on December 5, 2022, in Longview, Texas.

He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting in his younger years, and he loved raising pigeons and carpentry his whole life. Some of his favorite projects included toy chests and bookshelves for his grandkids and anything his wife could dream of. He was never afraid of hard work, but he enjoyed relaxing at the end of the day with an old western. Most of all he loved his family, kids and grandkids and always made sure everyone was taken care of.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Evelyn.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Struwe; children, Sean Struwe and wife, Danielle, Matthew Struwe and wife, Lauren, Morgan Irvin and husband, Colton and Madison Fowler and husband, Justin; brothers, Galen Struwe and wife, Jaci, Tim Struwe and wife, Caroline, Richard Struwe and Joey Struwe and wife, Tracy; sister, Connie Scherer and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Jordyn Struwe, Gracey Struwe, Jakson Struwe, Jude Struwe, Gentry Struwe, Everlee Struwe, Brayden Fowler, Deakon Fowler and Oaklyn Irvin along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the local animal shelter
