Funeral services for Millard McGee, 86, of Marshall will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 24, 2013 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Brother Jim Ames officiating. A time of visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. McGee passed away May 20, 2013 in Marshall. Millard McGee was born August 4, 1926 in Gordo, Alabama to Marion and Stella Elmore McGee. He attended the Gordo Public Schools. Mr. McGee was one of Jehovah's Witness for the past 30 years. He not only loved serving Jehovah, but also loved gardening, tinkering, working on motors and tending his cattle. He retired from American Norit in 1984. Mr. McGee is survived by his sons, David Davis and wife Sylvia of North Port, AL, Jerry Garrison and wife Rachel of Cottondale, AL, Perry McGee and wife Rolinda of Marshall; his daughters, Jackie Simmons and husband John of Marshall, Teresa Hunter and husband Damon of Bossier City, LA, Pamela Payne of Marshall; brother, Marshall McGee and wife Maxine of Marshall; 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jewell Davis McGee; son, Richard McGee; 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Garrison, Calen Garrison, Joseph Payne, Perry McGee, Jr., Nathan Branch, Jr., and Cody Parkman.
