The Lord called another angel into His Heavenly Choir on September 30, 2010 when Nancy Jo Page Hooten passed away at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas. Graveside services for Nancy Jo Page Hooten, 74, of Marshall will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday October 8, 2010 at Algoma Cemetery North in Marshall with Dr. Wallace Watkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday October 7, 2010 at the funeral home. Nancy was born on August 1, 1936 in Marshall, Texas to Joe and Jennie Mae Page. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. On September 18, 1955, she married the love of her life, James Wayne Hooten. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Marshall. Nancy was truly a servant of God because she and Wayne were always there to help others. Nancy worked at the Borden Company, Dunn Transportation and the Key Family of Marshall. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Wayne Hooten, of Marshall; son and daughter- in- law, Kerry and Tammy Hooten, of Marshall; sister, Martha Spurrier, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three sisters- in- law, Diane Page, of Deadwood, Evelyn Gray, of Puyallup, WA and Audrey Schambon and husband Bill, of Houston, TX; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Clegg and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary Wayne Hooten and brother, Jack Page. The family requests memorial be made to the Marshall Public Library, 300 S. Alamo, Marshall, Texas 75670.
