Nancy Carol Thames Blankenship went home to be with our Lord on August 27, 2012. Celebration of Life Services will be held at Downs Funeral Home on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Bro. Eric Peyton, pastor of First Baptist Church of Waskom. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Nancy Blankenship was born on March 23, 1943 in Brownwood, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Finely Alexander and Essie Carmelita Thames of Brownwood, Texas; her brother, Dale Thames of Shreveport, LA; and her step-son, Tony Blankenship. Mrs. Blankenship is survived by her devoted husband, Carroll Blankenship; one daughter, Kimberly Hudson Walker and her husband, Warren Walker; one grandson, Michael Alexander Williams; step-children, Joe, James and Carolyn Blankenship; step grandchildren, Tyler and Tiffney Blankenship, Margret and Luke Blankenship, Clint and Amber Blankenship, Brittney Wallace, Christopher Allen Benefill and Dakota Blankenship; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Blankenship devoted her retirement years to her cherished pets, helping others with sharing their joy of God's creatures, her greatest joy - her miniature horses. She will be remembered with much love.
