Funeral services for Nelda Jo (Nel) Cockrell, 53 of Marshall will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday September 28, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Cockrell passed away September 25, 2011 in Marshall. Nelda Jo Cockrell was born February 19, 1958 in Marshall to Cecil R. Eaves and Joy Faye Greene Eaves. Mrs. Cockrell worked as a nursing assistant for Marshall Manor as well as private home health care. She was of the Methodist faith. Surviving Nelda are three daughters, Ada Susaine Wintle, Martha Joy Allen and Meagan Lynn Cockrell all of Marshall; three grandsons, Trey Robert Allen of El Paso, Caden Lane Williams, and Samuel Lane Wintle, both of Marshall; one granddaughter, Callee Kay Cockrell of Marshall; husband, Gregory Joe Cockrell; mother, Joy Faye Eaves; brother, Leonard Eaves; sister, Linda Messick and husband Rory all of Marshall and one niece, Mallory McClain of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wintle and her father, Cecil R. Eaves. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Eaves, Joe Cockrell and Rayford Church.
