Nellie "Jean" Alexander, 89, of Marshall, Texas, peacefully passed away on September 26, 2025.

She was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, also working at Lee Marvin's Department Store and various other grocery stores. She was of the Baptist faith and found joy in painting, gardening her plants, and collecting angels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cade Cromer and Lily Belle Townsend, her husbands George Martin Williams and Francis Alexander, as well as one daughter and three sons.

She is survived by her children Delilah Alexander, Betty Jean Slack, Jennifer Lackey, and Wayne Williams Sr., along with 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, TX. A graveside service will follow on October 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Scratcheye Cemetery in Nesbitt, Texas.
