Services for Nellie Partee will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron, Texas. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. She was born on April 26, 1916 in the Gay Hill Community to Armin and Louise Doss, and passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Marshall, Texas at the age of 98. On December 20, 1943, she married George (Apple) Partee and to that union five children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 2002; infant daughter, Carolyn Jo in 1944 and infant son, Gary Wayne in 1951; four brothers and 3 sisters and grandson, Brett Partee. Grammy, as she was so affectionately called by her grandchildren, was a true nature lover. Her greatest joy came from spending time outdoors with her hands in the dirt or sitting quietly, watching the birds. She was also a lover of a good dessert or "something sweet" as she would say and never said "no" to ice cream or a good vanilla milkshake. She was a strong woman of faith who never missed an opportunity to let you know that you were in her prayers. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, but we find comfort in knowing her desire was to be where she is today, in her heavenly home, with her beloved "Apple". Mrs. Partee is survived by her son, Dennis Partee and wife Martha of Marshall, Texas; son, Stanley Partee and wife, Sara of Frisco, Texas; and daughter, Patti Albrecht and husband, Reggie of New Braunfels, Texas. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Mindi Partee of Breckenridge, Colorado, Kellie Sawyer and husband, Mike of Marshall, Texas, Stacy Talley and husband, Derek of Tyler, Texas, Amanda Helton and husband, Paul of Harleton, Texas; and grandsons, Bryan Partee and wife, Karen of Marshll, Texas, Lance Partee of Frisco, Texas, Brandon Albrecht and wife, Michelle of San Antonio, Texas, Chad Albrecht and Clint Albrecht of New Braunfels, Texas; several great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Cricket.
