A Graveside Service for Olan Douglas Jackson, 88, of Marshall will be held at 2:30p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Center Cemetery, Harleton Texas. Visitation will take place at Downs Funeral Home from 11:30a.m to 1:00p.m. at Downs Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at Center Cemetery after the visitation has concluded. Mr. Jackson passed away November 21, 2016 in Marshall.

Olan Douglas Jackson was born June 22, 1928 in Caddo Parish, Louisiana to Ivy and Emma Jackson. He lived most of his life in Shreveport before moving to Marshall in 2001. Olan worked for AT&T for 35 years as a lineman and supervisor. After moving to Marshall Olan and wife, Ivalynne joined Immanuel Baptist church where they attended services. Olan had many hobbies; among them were dancing, polka music, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and watching football, specifically his beloved Saints and LSU.

Surviving Olan Jackson are his wife, Ivalynne; children, Jerry Jackson (Karen), Randy Jackson (Robin), Doug Jackson, and Cindy Jackson all of Arkansas; step-children, Charlotte Guffey (Lonnie), Ronnie Copeland (Melanie), and Glenda Henigan (Charles). Also surviving Olan is his sister-in-law, Sally Jackson; 7 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and 27 step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Olan was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Troy and Ivy.
