Obituary

Ora "Doll" Nesby

A Godly and beautiful life ended February 7, 2018 with the Homegoing of Ora "Doll" Nesby. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Our hearts once filled with joy and happiness are now overwhelmed with sorrow.

Ora was born March 27, 1912 in Karnack, Texas to the late Nane and Charlie Edwards. There were fifteen children born to this union, ten girls and five boys. Ora was a twin to her sister named Cora.

Ora joined James Chapel Church at an early age where she sang with the adult choir. She was also an Eastern Star     member. She was a faithful and active member until her health failed.

Ora was united in marriage to Charlie Nesby of Scottsville, Texas on April 3, 1948.

Ora was self-employed housekeeper until she retired. She will be remembered for her kind, caring, and loving spirit.

Ora is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Nesby; son, Lonnel Edwards; fourteen sisters and brothers.

Saddened by her homegoing but cherishing memories of her are her daughter-in-law Willie Edwards; five grandchildren, Ronald (Geno) Edwards, Patrice (Gary) Devones, Bridgette Walker, Roderick (Tony) Edwards (Tina), Michelle Edwards-Ates; great-grandchildren, Tonnerica Edwards, Kemistri (Thierron) Hadnot, LaTasha Edwards, Malik Ates, Mekhi Ates, Tiva Deville, Tory Thompson, Terrance Edwards, Alexander Davis, Andre Davis, Amari Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
