A funeral service for Othella (Maye) Robinson, 76, of Karnack, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lotta Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Karnack.

Othella (Maye) was born on January 8, 1947, in Caddo Parish, Mooringsport, Louisiana to James Haley and Essie B. Dotie Haley, who preceded her in death. She passed away on August 6, 2023, in Forney, Texas.

Maye attended Caddo Parish Schools and joined and accepted Christ at the Republic Baptist Church at an early age. She was employed at Jordan Health Services and later became a Home Health Aide at Girling Healthcare for several years. Maye enjoyed caring for others, but her favorite pastime was listening and swaying to blues with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Essie B. Haley; sister, Essie D. "Lil Baby" Batts; brothers, Freddy "Bear" Batts, Wilbur Batts, Grant Richard "Lil Boy" Haley, Melvin "Bobby" Haley and Eddie "Boe Dotie" Batts, Sr.; son, Odell "D. Love" Hicks, Jr. and grandson, Terrion Macon.

She is survived by her son, Tyrone (Angela) Hicks; sister, Essie "Patricia" (Thomas) Jackson and grandchildren, DeLisa Brown, Tedarius Macon and Péja Hicks along with numerous other family and friends.
