Obituary

A funeral service for Patricia "Pat" Munden, 80, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the funeral home.

Patricia was born on December 5, 1943, in Minden, Louisiana to Jean Dickerson and Cecile Conwell Dickerson and passed away on November 24, 2024, at her home in Marshall.

She graduated from Marshall High School in 1961. She was a member of St. Marks Methodist Church and worked at First National Bank/Hibernia in Marshall, Texas for over 35 years. After retiring as a Bank Officer, she worked as a private sitter for about 10 years. She always enjoyed helping and loving on people. She was known as an AVID Elvis fan, collecting any and all of his memorabilia. Pat loved watching her son Matt, play sports growing up and continued the same trend with her grandchildren, Kirbie and Chett. She loved spending time with them as she kept them every Saturday night. No Saturday night was complete without watching Walker, Texas Ranger while eating Mexican food and Pizza Hut. They were her pride and joy and spoiled them tremendously. Pat was also known for her love of animals and being dressed from head to toe in her "bling."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Cecile Dickerson and her husband, Richard "Fats" Munden.

She is survived by her son, Matt Munden and wife, Angie; brother, Don Dickerson and wife, Beth; grandchildren, Kirbie Munden and Chett Munden; nieces, Debbie and Becky and nephew, Bryan along with many other friends and family.

A special thank you to all the nurses at Marshall Manor West as they took very good care of her. Also, a huge thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for all their care and her nurse Amanda Pilkington.  Her family would also like to thank her sitter Jerry Neel and her special friend/neighbor for over 50 years Peggy Foster.

Per her wishes, honorary pallbearers are:
Dan Liston, Ken Oden, Woody Moseley, Todd Lovelace, Jeff Hudson, Keith and Kent Bynum.  "All the boys are together again as they were friends in High School and they spent many a night at our house."
