Patricia Haden Read went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2026. Patricia was born on January 22, 1940, to JB Haden Sr. and Cora Lee Briggs Haden in Marshall, Texas. Patricia dedicated much of her life to serving others. She made many friends through her years of waitressing and restaurant owning. Patricia "Granny Pat" was known for her kindness, strength, and sense of humor.

She is survived by her four sons, Rodney Phillips Sr. (BJ), Ricky Simmons, Ronnie Simmons (Julie), and Romey Simmons (Michele); her cherished companion, William Stowe; grandchildren, Rodney Phillips Jr., Jahrie Williams, Casey Estrada (Ramiro), Clark Perry (Kim), Cassi Haag (Michi), Cole Sloan (Jamie), Jacob Sloan, Jordan Hayes (Heath), Haley Hastings (Stuart), Haden Simmons (Baleigh), Zack and Kelsey Glezen; great grandchildren, Taylor, Zoie and Ty Williams, Chase and Dylan Williams, Cassedie Ashley, Ram Estrada, Joseph Pierce, Alec, Libby and Callie Perry, Bradley Wayne and Sarah Hayes, Hadley and Henry Hastings, Walker Simmons and great great grandchildren, Vivian Perry, Ara and Paxton Williams, Kaleigh, Reagan, Gracie and Blake Sloan and Jonathan, Noah and Nicholas Haag along with other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Marshall Read; dad, JB Haden Sr., and mother, Cora Lee Haden; siblings, JB Haden Jr., Betty Stowe and Richard Lee, best friend, Arlynne Hensley; granddaughter, Jennifer Allensworth and great grandson, Ryder Wayne Simmons.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Rodney Phillips Jr., Haden Simmons, Stuart Hastings, Heath Hayes, Jerry Smith and Billy Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Cole Sloan, Jacob Sloan, Bobby Lane, Vince Bradbury and Bubba Simmons.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Prime Care Hospice of Longview.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bracken Cemetery in Elysian Fields, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
