Paul Ray
Storie
Mar 10, 1943 — Oct 1, 2024
Marshall
Paul Ray Storie was a Marshall, Texas native for 81 years. He was a man of many talents and passions. His competitive spirit and love for sports began in his youth with Marshall Maverick football and boxing. He continued playing football in college at both Eastern Oklahoma State and North Texas. It was in Wilburton, Oklahoma that he met the love of his life, Geral Elaine Jeffrey.
The two moved back to Marshall where he carried on the family legacy by running Paul Storie Wholesale Pottery, a successful business that spanned five generations. Paul wasn't finished with his athletic endeavors yet and was discovered for his boxing skills. This led to a professional boxing career as a heavyweight boxer. Today, his fights are still remembered, and his pottery is cherished by many.
However, his proudest achievement in life was being a devout Christian and sharing his faith with others. Although his fishing abilities would probably be a close second. Paul was a dedicated family man who always supported his loved ones in any way needed. He led by example, was always willing to lend a (very strong) helping hand and has made a lasting impact on many and will be forever cherished by us all.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Mora Murray, parents Ted & Mary Storie, in-laws DH and Jean Jeffrey, sister Becky Storie, brother Teddie Lee Storie, brother in-law Earl Jeffrey and sister in-law, Annette Storie.
He is survived by family members that love him dearly: his wife Geral Elaine Storie, brother Steven Storie, daughter Amy McMahan and husband Earl McMahan, son Paul Storie II and wife Carla Storie, grandchildren Regan Brightwell and husband Brandon Brightwell, Mason Weaver, Alex Thomas, great- grandchildren Leo and Lola Weaver, brother in-law Johnny Jeffrey and wife Ellen, sister in-law Claudia Jeffrey, many nieces and nephews, and other beloved family members and friends.
