Graveside services for Peggy Walker, 95, of Marshall, Texas, will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Pope City Cemetery in Woodlawn, Texas. Bro Kelly Wright will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Walker passed away March 16, 2014 in Jefferson. Peggy Walker was born April 10, 1918 in Vivian, LA. She attended Marshall Public Schools, was a member of Pope City Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Walker liked to sew, quilt, embroidery, play 42 and camping. She loved to read and listen to country music, and was devoted to her family. Surviving Mrs. Walker are her sons, Kenneth Walker, Billy Walker and wife Ginger; grandsons, Michael Walker, Kris Walker and wife Amy, Raymond Walker; granddaughter, Amanda Cantu and husband Daniel; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, G.B. and Beatrice Sheppard Lunsford; her husband, J. J. Walker; granddaughter, Renea Walker; and great granddaughter. Alyssa Walker.
