Rachel Regina Smith 51, died Tuesday, June 19th at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas with her family by her side.

Rachel Smith was born on November 29, 1966 to James Jr. (deceased) and Valarie Smith of Hallsville, Texas. She attended Hallsville Independent School district where she excelled at Track-N-Field, still holding the school record for the Shot Put. She was employed with Willoughby Juvenile Center in Marshall, Texas until she fell ill. She was a member of Cartersville Church of Christ, in Hallsville, Texas.

She had a love of life, family, and cooking. Holidays were always important because it included all the things she loved.

Rachel is survived by the love of her life, Willis Walker Sr.; her boys Cassabre Smith, Braylon Smith, and Willis Walker II; her mother Valarie Smith; sisters Ruby Wilson, JoAnn (Lawrence) Taylor and Tina Starlings; brother Larry Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Smith Jr.; and her brother Reginold Smith.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 29th at Downs Funeral Home from 5pm- 7pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 3pm at Down Funeral Home Chapel in Marshall, TX.
