A graveside service for Ralph Clemmons, 79, of Topeka, Kansas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Restland Cemetery in Waskom, Texas.

Ralph was born on October 7, 1943, in Florence, Alabama to Fred A. Clemmons and Clara Johnson Clemmons and passed away on April 15, 2023, in Topeka, Kansas.

He grew up in Waskom, Texas and joined the Airforce after graduation. He served as an aircraft mechanic crew chief on the B47 and KC135 refuelers. He later became an instructor for aircraft mechanics on the KC135. He served in Vietnam from early 1965 to 1968 in Budhapal Thailand. He also served Forbes Airfield in Topeka, Kansas, Offutt Airforce Base in Omaha, Nebraska, Chanute Airforce Base in Rantoul, Illinois, Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas and Barksdale Airforce Base in Shreveport, Louisiana. After retiring from the Airforce, he took up over the road truck driving for over 16 years until his health declined. He then moved to Topeka, Kansas where his son could help with his care.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Clara Clemmons and his great grandchild, Blakely Walker.

He is survived by children, Gary Clemmons and wife, Debbie, Anna Henderson and husband, Sam, Fred Clemmons and wife, Shannon, Patricia Mayfield and husband, Carlton and Billy Harris and wife, Tammy; sisters, Anna Howard, Mira Hayes and Ruby McLean; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren along with numerous other family and friends.
