Randall "Randy"
Lewis Corley, Sr
Nov 26, 1946 — May 15, 2016
Randall Lewis (Randy) Corley left earth for heaven on Sunday, May 15, 2016 after a sudden illness. He is rejoined with his wife, Pam, who has been awaiting his arrival since December, 2013, and they are once again side by side at the feet of Jesus.
Randy was born on November 26, 1946 and was 69 years old at the time of his death.
Randy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Randall Corley II, daughter-in-law, Melanie Corley, and grandson Randall Corley III, all of Magnolia, TX. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Wanda Hooten, of Marshall, TX. His friends are as numerous as sand on the seashore, from those he has known from his restaurant business, to his Delta Sigma Phi fraternity brothers from his time at SFA.
Someone once said that reputation is how you are known to your friends, but character is how you are known to God and the angels. Randy Corley carried the highest reputation one can have, and his character and integrity endeared him to everyone who crossed his path. Randy never met a stranger. He made it his mission to not only serve food of the highest quality, beginning with the Hamburger Store in Jefferson, which he and Pam owned and operated from 1984 to 2002. When her health forced them to retire, he subsequently purchased a partnership in Neely's Bar-B-Que, and operated Neely's as managing partner. His focus remained on food of the highest quality, in keeping with Neely's 88 year tradition, but his highest goal was to make everyone who walked through the door feel like family and old friends.
As a believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior, Randy knew his eternity was settled. His faith was what sustained him when his wife passed away, and our faith sustains us now, his family, his friends, co-workers, and the many others he so suddenly left behind.
