Funeral service for Randy Jones, 53, of Longview will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Eagle Creek Cemetery in Harleton. A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Jones passed away July 2, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Randy was born April 19, 1959 in Marshall to Howard and Nettie Maddox Jones. He attended the Harleton schools. Randy married Barbara Jean Wood on September 6, 1986 in Jefferson. They were blessed with three children, Aimee, Trevor and Miranda. Randy attended Northwood Church of Longview, and was a dedicated family man. He was self-employed in the construction industry. Randy is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones of Longview; daughters, Aimee Whatley and Miranda Jones, both of Longview; son, Trevor Jones of Longview; mother, Nettie Jones of Marshall; sisters, Shirley Jones and husband Bobby, Brenda Pope and husband Danny, all of Marshall; brothers, Kevin Jones and wife Chassity, Keith Jones and wife Anita, all of Marshall; cousin, David Jacobs of Longview; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Howard Jones and brother, Mike Jones.
