Raymond Dale Gomez, 21 years old, was born and raised in Marshall, Texas. He was born September 21, 1991 to Fernando & Vicki Gomez & died December 07, 2012, leaving behind his parents Fernando & Vicki Gomez, his brother Carlos Gomez, his stepsister Alexa Gomez, & his niece Marisa Gomez who calls him El Rey. Raymond was an awesome young man, outgoing, upbeat, comical, strong willed, always had a dream, and stood up for what he believed in. He attended Marshall High where he graduated in 2010. e, the joy of his life; he always tried to protect the ones he loved. While helping raise Marisa, the joy of his life, for a year, he completed high school, played in the Marshall High Band, and worked two jobs while making time to do what he wanted and needed to do, for himself and others. Raymond attended Northwestern State University for approximately 2 years. He decided to return home to try to get out of a financial bind that he got in from going to school, working, and trying to live. Raymond always wanted a smile on your face, like playing pranks on his Aunt Patricia Brannon, he liked texting her from his mom's phone making her believe she was talking to someone different, always wanted to dance & sing & wanted others to dance with him. Raymond Gomez left behind his spirit, his words, his personality, and just knowing what a blessing it was that we all had the opportunity to experience. He was one loved gentleman by those who had the opportunity to meet with him. There has been an outpouring of friend request, condolences, and pictures of special things done in his memory shown on his Facebook.. Raymond went home to be with the Lord & the rest of his family: Emma Davis Barr (grandmother that he cherished for life), Bernard Barr (grandfather), Charles Floyd & Mae Louise Litton Davis (great grandparents on mothers side, Arlie & Virginia McMichael (great grandparents on mothers side), one of his best friends Savannah Shirley. He also left behind his parents, one brother, step sister, aunts & uncles: Jeff & Patricia Brannon, Bernie & Mandi Barr, Marco & Estellita Chavez, David Gomez, grandmother Patricia Estelle Gomez. Cousins: Shanna, Justin, Terry Jones, David, Korey, & Sophia Gomez, Juanita Crews, Anita Gonzalez, Damian, Hunter, Kyliee, Ali, Darion, Jay, Paisley, Kara, Michael Barr. Two wonderful cousins/nieces Jasmine & Gabby whom referred to him as Daddy Raymond and his niece. Special music in Memory of Raymond will be played by His niece/cousin Jasmine Vazquez, his cousin Michael Barr, and Ms. Redmon a friend's mother.
