Reita Dorsett Talley was born September 5, 1933 in Logan, New Mexico to Clarence Edward Snyder and Lotta Mae Meeks Snyder, and passed away December 17, 2016 in Marshall. She has been a residence of Marshall since 1960. She was a realtor and was a member of the Marshall Board of Realtors for several years serving in different positions on the board. She also served as a Campfire Mom, Rodeo Mom and a 4-H Mom. In her younger years she was a telegraph operator, she owned her own airplane and loved flying. She loved traveling to the Pueblos, and Native American crafts, collecting cookbooks, and cooking. She loved her family and grandkids.

Survivors are her daughters, Donna Sue Elwell and husband, Keith of Burnet, TX, and Kay Hill and husband, Kenneth of Marshall, TX; five grandchildren, Laura Bevier and husband, Justin of Farmers Branch, TX, Matthew Elwell of Houston, TX, John Hill, Lindsey Hill and Bruce Hill, all of Marshall, TX; great grandson, Brooks Matthew Bevier of Farmers Branch, TX. Also surviving Ms. Talley is her brother, Clarence Dale Snyder of Dallas, TX, and numerous nieces, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John Talley.

Graveside services for Reita Talley will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 23,2016 at the Little Chapel by the Lake at Colonial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 22 nd at the Downs Funeral Home in Marshall.
