A Funeral Service for Renee James, 56, of Marshall will be held at 10:00a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Kildare Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place Friday, December 16, 2016 at Downs Funeral Home from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Renee James passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her home.

Renee Barr James was born May 01, 1960 to Donald Robert Barr and Glenda Sue Hartsell Barr in Atlanta, Texas. On October 14, 1982 Renee Barr married the love of her life, Irvin James, Jr. Together they raised three children who Renee loved more than life itself. On March 29, 2013 Renee and Irvin lost their only daughter, Caliegh at the age of 17. For the past 10 years, Marshall was home to Renee, although she remained a member of the Church of Christ in Atlanta. Renee loved her family; her two grandchildren were very special to her. She loved her dog, and friend, Mr. Bean. Renee had a kind heart and enjoyed making blankets and giving them away. She was loved by all who knew her.

Surviving Renee James are her husband of 34 years, Irvin James, Jr; two sons, Dustin James and wife, Jessica, and Caleb James; her mother, Glenda Barr; sister, Donelle Herron; grandchildren, Dreden and Danica James, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Proceeding her in death are her grandparents, Roy & Oma Hartsell; father, Donald Barr; her beloved daughter, Caleigh James; and niece, Hayley Herron.
