Funeral services for Retha Horn Duncan will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Algoma Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Duncan passed away August 26, 2015 in Marshall. Retha Horn Duncan was born on February 2, 1915 in Avinger, TX, to Frank and Minnie Ward Horn. They moved to Shreveport, LA when she was small. Retha worked at Louisiana Ordinance Plant and a Garment Manufacturing Factory, both in Shreveport. She later retired from Piccadilly Cafeteria in Beaumont, TX. Retha loved going to Victory Baptist Church, and playing 84 with her friends on Oakley Drive. Surviving Mrs. Duncan are a sister-in-law, Myna Horn of Shreveport, LA; several nieces and nephews and friends. Preceding her in death are two husbands, Herman Truffle and Tom Duncan; her parents, Minnie and Frank Horn; and her siblings, George Horn, Sr., Alvin Horn, Claude Horn, Franklin Horn, Amos Horn, Annie Lawson and Ward Horn.
