A graveside service for Richard James Bueche "Rick" will be held Thursday at 2 pm at the Colonial Gardens Cemetery Chapel.
Rick was born on March 28, 1955 in Marshall, Texas to parents Richard Charles Bueche and Dorothy Janette Smith-Bueche. Rick passed away on May 12, 2021 at his home in Dallas, Texas.
Rick enjoyed listening to music from the 60s and 70s, working with computers, watching movies at the theater and making funny skits with his camera. He had a unique and memorable sense of humor. He loved connecting with friends and family on Facebook and discussing his political views. When his health started fading, his "friends" on Facebook helped him make it through the long stay in the hospital and after he got to go home. He liked to create inventions to help people. Recently he was working on an alert if a child was left in a hot car. Rick had an almost child like sense of the world and a deep compassion for those who struggled. He had a real burden for African Americans being treated unfairly. And he always looked forward to trips back to Marshall to visit his family.
Rick is survived by his sister Cindy Jones and her spouse Bill Jones, his brothers Ronald Bueche and Mike Bueche, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rick was preceded in death by is parents, Richard and Janette Bueche.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Rick's very special friend, J.R. Chae, who was very dear to him. She said that he was the most honest person she had ever met.
Also, the family is grateful for Nancy Hardwick, who often brought Rick to doctor appointments and drove with
him to Marshall to see his family when he could no longer do so on his own.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
