Richard Dudley Harris Funeral services for Mr. Richard Dudley Harris, 66 of Marshall and Diana will be held Monday, May 09, 2011 at Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Marshall with Keith Hodges and D.W. McLendon officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery in Harleton. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Sunday May 08, 2011 at the funeral home. Mr. Harris passed away May 04, 2011 in Diana. Richard Dudley Harris was born January 01, 1945 in Shreveport, LA to Richard Edgar Harris, Sr. and Eunice Iverna Davidson Harris. Dudley graduated from Elysian Fields High School in 1963, graduated from Panola College with an associate's degree, then attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts in Chemistry. On June 29, 1968 he married Beverley Sue Ormes in Marshall. Dudley went to work for DARCO/ NORIT from 1969- 1991. He was a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ. Surviving Dudley are his wife of 42 years, Beverley Sue Harris of Marshall and Diana; daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Harris of Vernon, TX; son Mark Samuel Harris and wife Kim of Stafford, VA; three grandchildren, Samuel Isaac Alami Harris, David Andrew Harris and Anna Victoria Harris all of Stafford, VA; brother, Robert S. Harris and wife Eva of Cypress, TX and sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Harris of Elysian Fields. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved pets. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sam, Richard, and Charles Edgar Harris. Serving as pallbearers will be Albert Tiller, Art Ostrander, Pat Owens, Carl Harris, Paul Harris, and Shon Harris.
