Funeral services for Richard W. Niemiera, 69, of Marshall, will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Stacy Garrett officiating. Mr. Niemiera passed away April 8, 2014 in Longview. Richard William Niemiera was born May 6, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to Henry Barr and Mamie Beatrice Minton. He served his country with the U.S. Army, and worked for General Motors for over 36 years. Mr. Niemiera loved fishing, restoring old cars, hunting and traveling abroad. He married Diana Lea McSorley on December 17, 2007. Surviving Mr. Niemiera are his wife, Diana Niemiera of Marshall, TX; children, Bruce Barr and wife Ann of Stevensville, MD, Matthew and wife Melissa Niemiera of Justin, TX; step-children, Deana and husband Levi Jones of Hallsville, TX, Jimmy Arnett of Hallsville, TX; grandchildren, Brady, Dalton, Weston, Alexis, McKenzie, Lil' Madison, Courtney and husband Justin, Madison and husband Colton, Luke, Alyssa and husband Aaron, Blake, Autumn; great grandchild, Aiden; and a sister, Helen.
