Services celebrating the life of Rita Ann Cisco will be held at Downs Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2021. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2021. Interment will be at Yates Cemetery in Scottsville, Texas.

Rita was born February 10, 1938 in Monahans, Texas to Purcell and Sarah Mayfield.  She met and married Alvis D. Cisco in 1977. She passed away August 21, 2021 in Longview, Texas.

She graduated in Athens, Texas in 1957. After graduating high school, she continued her education in nursing. Once receiving her degree in nursing in 1967 she began her long career in nursing. After retiring in 2001 after 34 years of patient care she became a loving housewife. She enjoyed spending time gardening and camping.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alvis Cisco; one daughter, Roxanne Irwin of San Antonio, Tx; grandsons, Jason Mitchell, Chandler Cisco, Rhyann Cisco, Janson Cisco; great grandchildren, Micah Cisco and Emilia Cisco.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Hopkins of Marshall, Tx; her three brothers, John Roy Mayfield, James Mayfield and Jerri Mayfield; two sisters, Eleanor Roberts and Nell Mayfield and one daughter, Rhonda Hopkins.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
