Rita A.
Huddleston
Oct 27, 1924 — Mar 22, 2019
Rita Asprocolas Huddleston was born October 27, 1924, in Fords, New Jersey, to James and Theresa (Kropf) Asprocolas. Rita was the fifth of eight children. She met the love of her life Joe Huddleston, who was in the US Coast Guard and stationed in New Jersey. They were married June 17, 1944. Rita and Joe were devout members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Rita was a dedicated wife and mother and when her children were teenagers she went back to school to become a nurse. She worked for many years as an LVN at Memorial Hospital (now CHRISTUS Good Shepherd) in Marshall, TX. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. Most of all, she was always happy to spend time with her two granddaughters, Leslie and Sarah.
Rita is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Frazier and husband Orman of Marshall, her son Bill Huddleston and his wife Patty of Marshall, her two granddaughters, Leslie Simpson of Cedar Park, Texas, and Sarah Geter and her husband Steven of Highland Village, Texas, her great-grandchildren Finley and Miles Simpson, and Lily and Emme Geter, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years Joe, her parents James and Theresa Asprocolas and her brothers and sisters, George, Rudy, Milton, Clara, Bernie, Terry, and Mary.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 6, 2019 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Marshall.
