Robert Douglas Rivers was born June 15, 1947 to Leon and Mable Anderson Rivers in Uncertain, Texas. Robert, or as he was known to many, "Che Che" or "Birdman", spent his life in East Texas, fishing the local lakes, creeks and river bottoms. His catch never went to waste as he enjoyed eating fish. Robert served his community for many years as a painter and carpenter. In his free time you could find him coaxing a beautiful lady onto the dance floor.

Robert Rivers is survived by his children, Shannon Boyd of Lancaster, TX, and Robert Holt of Desoto, TX; adopted children, Krystal Young of Shreveport, LA, Rodney and Eddee of Marshall; brothers, Leon Rivers, Jr, Johnny Rivers, and Terry Rivers; sisters, Hattie Lee Hayward (Jake), Addie Mae Moreland (Cornell), Ruby Richardson, Vanessa Ankney, and Clarissa Carter (Bobby); grandchildren, Cornelius Young, Janaye Harris, Tomorris Hamilton, Xander Holt, Kennedy Holt; and adopted grandchildren, Tia Mitchell and Tori Mitchell.
