A funeral service for Robert Cain will be Friday, September 27, 2019 at 2:00p.m. in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Segers officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home.

Robert Cain 66, of Waskom, Texas was born on February 27, 1953 in Shreveport, LA. to his parents, Benjamin Robert Cain and Myrtle Ruth Philpot. Mr. Cain passed away on September 24, 2019 at his home in Waskom, Texas. Mr. Cain started his career at Marshall Police Department and Patrol; he then went on to be a sergeant and detective. He also served as a constable. Mr. Cain worked at The Tool House in Shreveport. He was an entrepreneur and owned a pizza business. Mr. Cain was a coin collector, this was his biggest hobby. He also enjoyed watching baseball; the Texas Rangers were his favorite team. Mr. Cain loved his family, friends and serving his community.

Mr. Cain is survived by his wife, Sue Cain; sons, Benjamin "Ben" Cain III, Timothy Cain and Amber Clements; brother, Jackie Cain and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Benjamin Cain IV, Relena Cain, Rebekah Cain, Victoria Cain, Travis Cain, Jakob Cain and Sabrina Doss; great-grandchild, Benjamin Cain V; nephew, Randy Cain; niece, Emily Bennett; great nephews, Dillon Bennett and Tucker Bennett. Mr. Cain is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Mr. Cain is preceded in death by parents, Benjamin Cain, Sr. and spouse, Myrtle.

In lieu of flowers the family of Mr. Cain has requested any donations be made to American Cancer Society.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jackie Cain, Randy Cain, Dillon Bennett, Ben Cain, Albert Collins and Leonard Johnson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jakob Cain, Jeremy Adams, Bill Mac Philpot, Timothy Cain, Carlos Philpot and Tucker Bennett.
